This hotel is situated adjacent to Red Square on Theatre Square very close to the Russian museum. The Kremlin, GUM departmant store and Bolshoi Theatre are well within walking distance.
The hotel was built at the turn of century and features a classical exterior, renovated earlier this century. The frontage has a covered gallery with impressive archways. The roof is domed and there are turrets up top. The facade features pale stonework.
The large lobby is airy with marble flooring and extensive tasteful seating areas. It is well lit through the rooflights and artificial lighting. The seating areas are carpeted.
Extravagantly fitted out under a huge glass atrium. Classical style. Plush red velvet upholstery against light and decorated woodwork. |

Very modern and far more impressive than the usual Novotel property.
The medium sized lobby area gives way to a huge central atrium. This area is overlooked by balconies on each floor where access is gained to the rooms. The area has many comfortable seats and plants. The bar/restaurant area is situated off the atrium area.
Are standard novotel design with one double bed and a sofa bed, all the latest modern equipment and furniture. They are pleasantly decorated in pastel shades and are really very comfortable.
Dining facilities include a grill restaurant, a cocktail bar and piano bar as well a more traditional outlet serving Russian specialities. Restaurant- this hotel is definitely one of the best novotels and bears no ressemblance to the majority of the standard French properties.This is a very comfortable, pleasant hotel offering a very high level of service. |

The hotel is situated on the banks of the river moskva opposite the red square, the kremlin and st basil's cathedral. The nearest metro is about 20 minutes' walk away.
This hotel was voted best hotel in Russia 1999.
The exterior is traditional, pale baroque. The medium sized lobby area is cosy with brown shades predominating. The area is very busy particularly for concluding business deals. The reception area is to the right on entering the hotel and the lobby bar is to the rear. The Vienna cafe and boutiques are just off the lobby to the left.
The very spacious rooms are very well equiped with all the facilities expected from a top international hotel. The decor is white and red with beige shades. Some rooms have a view over the moskva river and the cathedral of st basil and the
kremlin. The main restaurant is situated on the first floor again with fine views over st basil's cathedral and the kremlin. The restuarant is dominated by a sumptuous buffet. The fine dining, exclusive romanoff restaurant is located in the upper floors of the hotel. It is widely regarded as one of the finest dining experiences available in Moscow. |

The hotel National has a prime location just minutes from Red Square. The hotel is opposite the closest metro stations and bus and trolleybus links are excellent. The property is on the corner of Tverskaya street and Manezh Square.
The building is traditional in style with imposing classical features overlooking the square.
The small lobby has high ceilings and is well lit by daylight from the large doors and shop front windows. The marble foored reception area is to the left of the entrance.
Each room is different from the next but all are luxuriously decorated in a traditional style. There is even a room containing the desk where lenin himself penned his famous memoirs.
The restaurant is situated on the first floor and is once again luxuriously appointed with fine views over the main approach to Red Square.

The modern building fits in nicely with the neighbourhood. The concrete facade is topped by steel and glass window frames.
The small lobby is brightly lit with large shop front windows. The entrance is from a sidestreet. The reception area is situated to the right of the door and to the left are the lifts and an expansive bar area.
The rooms are a good size, with all the facilities one would expect from a this kind of product. The rooms are decorated in whites with dark brown wood trim and blue soft furnishings. The rooms occasionally give a feeling of being a bit dark.
The restaurant is located on the first floor and is expansive with light and airy atmosphere. |
